I'm more worried about tendon damage below the waist and/or a groin injury. Hell, a broken collar bone? That's as random as it gets. Any player can sustain that type of injury. Williams had terrible tendon injuries prior to arriving in LA. Look at him now. |

How much for Greene? - Iggysbff
I'd bet probably between $2-2.5 mil. Remember that this guy wears the A on his sweater, and the Kings said that he brought a lot of leadership and stability to the locker room even when he was out on IR. He's fine for a 6/7 defenseman role, and as long as his cap hit starts with a 2, I'm happy. |

your always on the money with your perspective..........as far as my opinion goes anyway. When I read something that makes good sense, alot of the times it comes from you.
just saying I agree....today and most likely tomorrow....in too many words |

I bet you the reason that they are doing a 4-year deal as opposed to a 1 or 2 year deal is so Greene will accept less money per season. |

Thanks. I always try to make my assessments more with my brain and less with my heart. I like to think that I succeed most of the time. It's nice to hear it from someone else. |

Not really. I would leave for a chance at a championship any day.
@mayorNHL: And yes... Rob Blake's #4 will be retired by the #LAKings
Also most people forget he came back to LA. Then LA didn't renew his contract went to SJ.
Now he's back the guy is pretty loyal to LA more than people think. Still one of my all time favorite Kings regardless of his choice to be traded to an eventual Cup winner |

They actually can afford to keep him but his $$$ would be better suited on the top 2 lines.
I'm pretty sure they will try and rejuvenate him by putting him in his natural 2C role.
Unfortunately it would break up the 70s line but we'll see.
I don't mind seeing him 3LW but most would see his cap hit and say that's too much to be paying him to play 3LW but if LA can win another Cup with him there I'm all for it

I was hoping Greene would be back. If 4 years is the deal, Greene would become the Richards of the defense. He'll be getting guaranteed years and dollars in the hopes he can return to a previous form. Lombardi is setting up some very difficult decisions later down the road. |

I've heard a lot of stuff that went on behind the scenes was akin to Blake trying to force DL's hand for a certain amount. Of course I don't know what really went on... I, for one, have never boo'd Blake whenever he came back to Staples in an opponents sweater and I would cheer his number being retired.
It's crazy to think what Greene would be like in 4 years if he's already having back problems. Maybe he'll end up a Odie type veteran towards the back end of his deal.
Either way, In Dean I Trust. |

I did not boo him but I don't tell people how to be fans. He hung is team out to dry when he was the captain, he all but demanded a trade while he was the captain. He was also the best defenceman (pre doughty) in kings history; and don't give me that Larry Murphey bs he hardly had time to put the jersey on before the Kings traded him.
All I'm saying is if your a lifetime season ticket holder and you remember the 2-3 seasons where Blake was disloyal and it diminishes his contributions, you are entitled to your own opinion. |

I guess if your a new Kings fan or just love being slapped in the face by a player who disrespected the entire fan base, I guess you cheer for Blake. I didn't. Some fans have standards others don't. Oh, by the way..........Boooooooooooooo!!!!!!

Wouldn't you much rather see Nordstrom get his jersey retired over Blake. Like I said I didn't boo him cuz im not really a boo'er but I don't root for the guy anymore. I'm not thrilled with him being the assistant GM. |

Yes, Nordstrom was a great player and more worthy, IMO. |
